
The New Soda Springs Trail System

Last season brought unusually high rainfall to the area and the low-lying areas experienced some significant flooding. The parks system was particularly hard hit as the popular crushed gravel walking trails were completely destroyed. The town parks and recreation spokesperson, Tara Flenderson, said that the town had been considering replacing the crushed granite paths with asphalt so the natural disaster just moved the project up on the timetable. "We looked at the destruction of the trails more like a motivation to do the much needed work rather than a disaster. Funding had been secure and the department was having negotiations to select a contractor for the job. The project was due to start in the fall of 2021 but the date has now been moved to this summer and will take an estimated six months to complete"...click to continue reading
